Liquidation Auction of the Gold Heritage (bullion and numismatics) of Mrs. N.C.’s family #608/2025

1. Who is organizing the auction?

The auction is co-organized by A10 by Artmark together with Maison Maitre Ortica & Associes, Lyon, France.

2. Where are the lots located?

The lots are stored in a secured safe deposit box, in a Romanian bank (the Romanian branch of a French bank).

3. Can the lots be viewed?

For security reasons, given their exceptional value, the lots are not exhibited, being kept in a specialized bank deposit. However, they are described in the auction catalogue, analysis bulletins/expert reports, published on the website, which specify the two parameters for gold evaluation: weight and purity.

4. What documentation accompanies the lots?

The lots are accompanied by an invoice, a certificate of sale, a delivery-receipt protocol, as well as copies of the analysis bulletins and the expert report (numismatic expert Frederic Deloute).

5. What fees are added to the hammer price and within what timeframe must payment be made?

No VAT is added to the hammer price, only the standard House commission (20%, VAT included). Full payment must be made within 7 calendar days, in euros, to the account indicated on the invoice.

6. Where is the payment made?

Payment is made into the special account opened by the co-organizer (mentioned in the proforma invoices):

7. Can the price be paid in installments (in case of a banking limit)?

Yes. Installments are permitted, provided the full amount is paid within the established timeframe.

8. How is delivery of the lots carried out?

The lots will be released by the depository bank and may be collected by the buyers:

  1. from the Artmark headquarters;
  2. from the Bucharest branch of the bank;
  3. or delivered to clients, at their expense, by a specialized courier chosen by the client.
9. Within what timeframe can the lots be collected?

The lots can be collected within 3 working days from confirmation of payment receipt by the depository bank.

10. How can the bullion be monetized?

Bullion can be monetized through sale, especially to banks (the National Bank of Romania, commercial banks that sell gold), other entities specialized in trading precious metals accredited by ANPC, pawnshops, jewelers, and private investors.

11. Where can the bullion be stored?

If external storage is desired, banks or value depositories offer this service. There is no legal restriction on privately owning any quantity of gold.

12. What documentation is required for transporting bullion abroad?

An export certificate issued by the decentralized public service of the Ministry of Culture is required. Upon client request, Artmark can handle the process of obtaining the export certificate, under the terms of the Auction Regulations.
